DFFL Owners:

Not a good start to my prognostication effort last week. 2-4… I blame Kirk… just kidding… I really blame the Packers.

Now that we’ve seen some real action though, maybe it will be easier to foresee the future this week?

Oddly… no DFFL team that won last week plays another team that won last week. It’s possible that there could be no undefeated teams after this week. It’s also possible there could be as many winless teams after this week as there are after week 1.

Sleeper info current as of 6:00PM US EST Thursday, 16 Sep.

#5 UGG (0-1) vs #1 TMW (1-0)

Sleeper projection: UGG wins 213 to 212… basically a dead heat.

Last week’s monster out of the gate, TMW, looks to keep their bully momentum going… and there’s not much reason to think they won’t. Kyler at home… Gaskin at home… Tyreek against a Baltimore D that didn’t look so good on MNF… Allen against Dallas… Cooper and Lamb with Dak having to keep the Cowboys in a shootout… that’s more than enough for TMW to put up a big score again. UGG has Wilson coming off a nice performance and playing at home… and M Gordon at JAX… and maybe one of either CEH, Mike Williams, or Chase Edmonds has a big game.. but the rest don’t. Sorry UGG… you’ll put up a good fight but TMW will take the lead for good during SNF… and don’t count on Davonte Adams to bring you back on MNF. TMW wins by 15.

#12 DNF (0-1) vs #2 KED (1-0)

Sleeper projection: KED wins 231 to 228.

DNF loses… cause they suck… cause they have two too many Packers. DK may do well at home against the Titans, and Jefferson may show up in Arizona… and Henry can always do damage… but that’s probably enough to get DNF close to half their projection again. KED will show why they were the #1 preseason team and look to plant a flag in the middle of the field, and they’ll do it early… no SNF or MNF players on KED. Look for KED to put up 240+ … KED wins by 80+.

#3 JWW (1-0) vs #7 KAK (0-1)

Sleeper projection: JWW wins 217 to 189.

This could be a shootout… with a little back and forth on SNF. QBs and RBs with comparatively good matchups. JWW should get an advantage from Lockett and AB over Claypool and Shepard… but KAK may make up for it with Evans and Jacobs outperforming JWWs mid-tier RB threesome of Sanders, Ty’Son, and Hunt in the WRT spots. Look for the superstar TEs from these two, JWW’s Kelce on SNF, and KAD’s T-Hock on MNF to play critical role for whoever wins. JWW’s owner will be physically present for the SNF game with the Chiefs at the Ravens… so look for JWW to find a way to “motivate” the 4 players he has in the lineup for that game… and JWW wins by 8 (much closer than projection though).

#4 CAB (1-0) vs #9 MTT (0-1)

Sleeper projection: CAB wins 204 to 202… another dead heat.

There’s a lot of players on the road in this matchup, so it could go wonky. MTT gonna need a BIG Sunday performances from Montgomery at home against the BANGLZ and one of his road warriors in Thielen or AJ Brown. If T McLaurin gets MTT off to a good start tonight, then look for MTT to be within firing range of a come back on MNF with D Swift facing the crappy Packers. As for CAB… I see this as one they eek out. Ridley or JuJu will show up (maybe not both though), but look for Higbee, Samuel, and Christian Kirk all to out perform projections. On SNF Mahomes will do better this week against B’More (remember, JWW owner will be there helping to encourage a bunch of Chiefs), so look for CAB to have a solid lead that Swift will be furiously trying to overcome. Unfortunately for MTT, the Lions will be so far ahead of the Packers by halftime, that Swift won’t get many snaps in the second half. CAB wins by 5.

#11 TIU (1-0) vs #6 NUT (0-1)

Sleeper projection: NUT wins 214 to 196.

TIU is coming off that perfectly lucky win last week and is gonna need a lot more of that to continue to overcome the sleeping giant that is NUT. TIU has tough matchups with Allen on the road in Miami and M Davis on the road at Tampa. Those two will underperform… I’m so sure, I’ll do a sidebet to whomever PMs me first. TIU could get a shot in the arm tonight on TNF from Logan Thomas, but it depends on Heineken airing it out tonight… possible actually. D Moore will get shut down by that newly quite rich Saints DB… Lattimore… so TIU will be starving for points in too many places. Meanwhile, NUT will come out guns blazing with Stafford, CMC, and Waller likely all going over projections (not 100% sure on CMC actually). Look for NUT to not need Hollywood to seal the deal on SNF… but if he does, trust me, he’ll reach out to the JWW owner to provide some motivation to the former Sooner. NUT wins by 14.

#10 RAF (1-0) vs #8 PTS (0-1)

Sleeper projection: PTS wins 204 to 190.

I was going to pick PTS out of the gate here… but as I look it over… I’m not so sure. PTS has Herbert against Dallas, which is good… and D-Hop at home… and I like me some Kupp all day long and twice on Sundays… but I see question marks for Carson, Pitts, J-Rob, and Chase. PTS WILL need 2 or even 3 of those guys to meet their projections… all of which may be a bit high. RAF has some attractive matchup options. Don’t know for sure what L Jax will do on SNF against the Chiefs, but aside from him as a wild card, there’s some potential in the RAF lineup to make this a really interesting down to the wire matchup. Look for Corey Davis to get some random high points at home against the Patriots and for Landry to find the end zone against the Texans… maybe twice. Throw in a bomb TD from Waddle and a solid Broncos DEF against the Jags… and it may not take much from L-Jax to steal the win here. The blazingly loud wild card here though is this E. Mitchell guy for the 49ers. Does RAF realize that PTS is a Niners fan? That makes this even more interesting. Unfortunately for both of these guys, Mitchell underwhelms on the road in Philly, and PTS hangs on to win by 6.
